For decades, the best employment lawyers have worked for companies. The professionals on the other side of the table, the ones signing the offer, the equity grant, the severance, rarely had anyone reading the fine print for them.
FairPlay Law exists to level the playing field. We represent the individual (the employee, the consultant, the influencer, the contract worker, the board member), never the company across the table, and we use technology to make senior representation affordable and fast.
Why we exist?
Most employment lawyers represent employers. The ones who represent individuals are hard to find and expensive, and they turn away most of the people who ask. So professionals sign offers, consulting deals, equity grants, and severance agreements with only the company’s lawyers in the room.
That imbalance is the whole reason for the firm. A professional negotiating an exit or an offer is up against an organization that does this every day, with counsel on retainer and a playbook it has run a hundred times. FairPlay puts an experienced lawyer, and real market data, on your side of that table.
What makes the firm different
FairPlay Law is an AI-native law firm. The firm was built around technology from the start, rather than a traditional practice with software added later. In practice that means our lawyers and our AI work together.
The firm’s attorneys do the legal work: reviewing agreements, advising on strategy, and negotiating on a client’s behalf. Alongside the firm is an affiliated technology company, FairPlay Global, Inc. (dba FairPlay Analytics), let by technology leaders and AI engineers.
The company combines cutting-edge artificial intelligence with an expansive proprietary database of peer-level employment documents to quickly deliver data supported analysis to help individuals understand what terms mean, the risks they may pose and the way those terms compare to those of their peers so they can decide what the market considers fair and whether to hire a lawyer.*
The company also builds AI tools and applications to enable the lawyers at FairPlay Law to ethically and responsibly apply legal practice workflows utilizing custom AI applications built on top of the most current LLMs (Claude, Gemini, GPT) housed on private and secure infrastructure hosted with AWS. This enables FairPlay Law attorneys to combine their expertise with the capabilities of AI.
*FairPlay Analytics is a product provided by FairPlay Global, Inc., an affiliate of FairPlay Law, PLLC. It is information to help you decide whether to hire a lawyer, and is not legal advice.
The data advantage
Every agreement FairPlay Analytics reviews makes the next one sharper. The platform reads your terms, de-identifies the data extracted from those terms and then analyzes the data against similarly extracted data from our growing corpus of real professional agreements. The analysis enables you to see how your offer, equity, or severance compares to the market for people in similar roles and pay bands. That kind of comparison has rarely been available to an individual.
Legal software and AI tools are common. The data behind FairPlay Analytics compounds, and it works for the client: better benchmarks mean clearer answers about what is standard, what is negotiable, and where the leverage sits.
How we price
We publish our fees at our firm. Transparent rates for defined work, set before we start, with a contingency only on the additional value we help a client recover. Pricing is part of the firm’s positioning because the market it competes in is built on opacity, and clarity is worth more to a professional under pressure than a vague promise.
The people behind FairPlay
FairPlay was founded by lawyers who spent their careers on the company’s side of employment and contracts. Sanjay Kamlani and David Perla built and led venture-backed companies and served as general counsel; Darah Okeke led employment teams at Uber, Twitter, and Etsy. They know how the other side thinks, because they have been the other side.
