Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how FairPlay Law, PLLC (“FairPlay Law,” “the Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit fairplay.law (the “Site”), contact the Firm, or subscribe to communications. It applies to the Site only.
It does not apply to the FairPlay Analytics portal. If you request a free AI Report, you will leave the Site and provide your information and documents to FairPlay Global, Inc. (“FairPlay Global”), an affiliated technology company that operates the portal. FairPlay Global’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern the information you provide there, and you will be asked to review and accept them when you create your account. As described in FairPlay Global’s Privacy Policy, FairPlay Global de-identifies information provided through the portal and retains the de-identified data to build and improve the benchmark analytics that power reports for you and other users.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any message you choose to include. When you subscribe to the FairPlay newsletter, we collect your email address. When you call the Firm, we collect the information you share on the call and, where permitted, may record or monitor calls for quality and supervision after informing you at the start of the call. If you call a phone number displayed in one of our advertisements or on a campaign page, we or our service providers may also record which advertisement, page, or campaign led to your call.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information from your browser or device, including IP address, general location, device and browser type, the pages you view, how you arrived at the Site, and identifiers stored in cookies and similar technologies. We use HubSpot as our website analytics and customer relationship platform and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. We also use advertising tools from LinkedIn that collect information about your visit through pixels and similar technologies so we can measure our advertising and show relevant messages to Site visitors on LinkedIn. LinkedIn may use the information it collects as described in its own privacy policy. Our Cookie Policy lists the technologies in use and your choices, including how to opt out.
2. How We Use Information
To respond when you ask us to contact you, including scheduling a consultation — by phone, email, or, where you have given express consent, text message;
To run conflict checks and determine whether the Firm can consider your matter;
To deliver the FairPlay newsletter and other communications you request, and to tell you about the Firm’s services where permitted by law (you can opt out at any time);
To operate, secure, and improve the Site and understand how visitors use it;
To comply with legal and professional obligations, including the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, and to establish or defend legal claims.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. Except for the advertising measurement and retargeting described below and in Section 7, we do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
Advertising partners. As described in Section 1, we use LinkedIn advertising tools that collect limited information about your visit (such as device identifiers and pages viewed) to measure our advertising and to show relevant messages to Site visitors on LinkedIn. This may be considered “sharing” for targeted advertising under some state privacy laws; Section 7 describes your right to opt out.
FairPlay Global, Inc. FairPlay Global provides technology, marketing, and business operations services to the Firm under an intercompany services agreement, and personnel performing those services — including intake and marketing support — may access information collected through the Site solely to perform services for the Firm, under the Firm’s supervision and subject to confidentiality obligations. If you subscribe to the FairPlay newsletter, your email address is shared with FairPlay Global, which publishes the newsletter under the FairPlay brand and uses subscriber information as described in its own Privacy Policy.
Service providers. We use third-party providers to operate the Site and the Firm’s practice — including website hosting, HubSpot (analytics and CRM), Clio (practice management and conflict checks), and DialPad (telephone services). These providers process information on our behalf under contractual restrictions.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Firm, our clients, or others, consistent with our professional obligations.
Business changes. If the Firm undergoes a reorganization or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the professional obligations that protect client and prospective-client information.
4. Prospective Clients, Clients, and Professional Obligations
If you contact the Firm about possibly retaining it, or become a client, information you share in that capacity is protected by professional obligations — including duties of confidentiality to prospective clients and clients under the New York Rules of Professional Conduct and, for clients, the attorney-client privilege. Those professional obligations are stricter than this Privacy Policy, and where they apply, they control. Nothing in this Privacy Policy reduces or waives them. This Privacy Policy governs Site data — analytics, cookies, and routine communications — not the substance of an attorney-client relationship.
5. Cookies and Analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, analytics, and — as described in Sections 1 and 7 — advertising measurement and retargeting. Our Cookie Policy describes each category in use and your choices, including the consent banner, the advertising-cookies toggle, and the “Your Privacy Choices” link. Where required by applicable law, we honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under state privacy laws — such as the California Consumer Privacy Act — to know what personal information an organization holds about you, to access or correct it, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. Whether or not a particular law applies to the Firm, you may submit a request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at [privacy@fairplay.law] or (877) 777-0386, and you may opt out of targeted-advertising sharing at any time using the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the Site footer or a Global Privacy Control signal (see Section 7). We will respond consistent with applicable law and our professional obligations. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. Note that professional and legal duties may require the Firm to retain certain information — for example, conflict-check records — even after a deletion request.
7. Targeted Advertising and Your Opt-Out
We use LinkedIn advertising tools for two purposes only: measuring the performance of our advertising, and showing messages on LinkedIn to people who have visited the Site (sometimes called “retargeting”). Under some state privacy laws, allowing an advertising platform to collect information from our Site for these purposes is treated as “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out at any time: use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the Site footer to disable advertising cookies, or send an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control from your browser, which we honor. Opting out stops the advertising tools from collecting information about your visits; it does not affect essential site functions.
8. Artificial Intelligence
The Site itself does not use artificial intelligence to make automated decisions about you or to profile visitors. The free AI Report offered through the Site is generated on the FairPlay Analytics platform, which is operated by FairPlay Global and governed by FairPlay Global’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy — including its disclosures about AI-generated analysis and how uploaded information is used. If we introduce AI-powered features on the Site itself, we will update this Policy to describe them before they launch.
9. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy and to meet legal and professional obligations. Contact and intake information is retained consistent with the Firm’s conflict-check and record-keeping duties, which can require long retention periods. Analytics data is retained per our analytics configuration. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect through the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive documents or detailed confidential information through the contact form or by unsolicited email; if the Firm needs documents from you, we will tell you how to provide them securely.
11. Children
The Site is intended for adults seeking information about employment matters. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Visitors From Outside the United States
FairPlay Law practices United States law, and the Site is operated from the United States. If you visit the Site or contact the Firm from outside the United States, the information you provide will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Site, you understand that your information will be handled as described in this Policy.
13. Links, Social Media, and Third-Party Services
The Site links to third-party websites and to the FairPlay Analytics portal operated by FairPlay Global. This Policy does not apply to those destinations. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit, including FairPlay Global’s Privacy Policy before you create a portal account.
FairPlay also maintains profiles on social media platforms. If you interact with the Firm through those platforms — for example, by messaging us or commenting on a post — the platform’s own privacy policy governs its handling of your information, and this Policy applies to any information we collect from the interaction. Please do not share confidential information about your situation through social media.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted on this page. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention, such as a notice on the Site.
