Bio
David Perla is a co-founder and partner at FairPlay Law. He has more than three decades at the intersection experience law, employment and technology, including roles at an AmLaw 100 law firm, at public and private companies focused on the legal or employment industries, and at the world’s leading legal finance company.
In addition to his role at FairPlay Law, David serves as Vice Chair at Burford Capital (NYSE: BUR), the global leading legal finance firm. In this capacity, David has spent the past eight years working with claimants of all sizes as they enforce their rights through in meritorious litigation. David has been with Burford since 2018, serving as Managing Director, Co-Chief Operating Officer and now as Vice Chair.
From 2014-2016, David served as President of Bloomberg Law.
Previously, David was a Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Pangea3, a Sequoia Capital portfolio company acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2010. The #1 ranked legal process outsourcing (LPO) provider world-wide, Pangea3 grew to over 1,000 employees globally during David’s tenure. Pangea3 provides innovative global legal solutions to Fortune 1000 corporations, in-house counsel and law firms, and has received numerous accolades and industry awards.
Prior to Pangea3, David V.P. - Business & Legal Affairs for Monster.com, then the leading global online careers property.
Prior to Monster, David was a lawyer at Katten Muchin Rosenman, an AmLaw 100 law firm.
Across all these roles, David has handled and advised on employment-dispute matters involving executives and professionals at all levels.
David has been featured in numerous media outlets, including Law.com, Inside Counsel, the National Law Journal, the New York Law Journal, Bloomberg, Crain’s, Fox Business News, and The American Lawyer.
